We're looking for an experienced Baker to join our busy production team over the summer holiday season here at the Fairlie Bakehouse.

We're a vibrant, multicultural team with staff from all around the world. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers, earn some money and explore the best of the South Island.

About the Role - Baker

Christmas is one of our busiest and most enjoyable times of the year at the Fairlie Bakehouse! You'll be helping us create a delicious range of Christmas cookies and seasonal treats, alongside our usual range of baked goods.

As we move into the busy summer season, you'll continue working with our team preparing cakes, bread, sandwiches, catering orders and other bakery favourites.

This is an early morning role in a fast-paced environment, so you'll need to be reasonably fit, reliable and comfortable working on your feet.

We're looking for someone with proven baking experience, good English communication skills and a positive attitude. Cookie decorating skills would be an advantage.

The Details

• Pay: $26.00 per hour + 8% holiday pay
• Full-time, seasonal position - minimum 40 hours per week
• Extra hours may be available when needed, plus time-and-a-half pay on public holidays - a great opportunity to save for your next adventure!
• Minimum 3-month paid position
• A Fairlie Bakehouse pie and drink provided for lunch each working day
• Rostered days off each week
• Assistance connecting with local accommodation providers

Important Availability Requirements

• Start dates available from late November 2026, with applicants required to start no later than 7 December 2026 to allow time for training.
• We are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, so you'll have these two days off to enjoy.
• You must be available to work throughout the holiday period, including January and February 2027.
