Sauna Host Coromandel Beaches

Looking for a unique job working on some of New Zealand's most beautiful beaches?

Sauna Ora is a locally owned and operated mobile wood-fired sauna business offering traditional sauna experiences at stunning beachfront locations around the Coromandel Peninsula, including Whitianga, Hahei, Kuaotunu and Matarangi.

We're looking for a friendly, practical and reliable person to join our small team as a Sauna Host (Sauna Meister).

About the role

You'll be responsible for transporting, setting up and running our mobile wood-fired sauna at various beachfront locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Towing, positioning and setting up our sauna trailer (vehicle provided).
• Lighting and managing the wood-fired sauna stove.
• Welcoming guests and guiding traditional sauna sessions.
• Ensuring guests have a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience.
• Cleaning and maintaining the sauna and equipment.
• Working independently and managing day-to-day operations.

Who we're looking for

The ideal candidate will:

• Be confident and experienced towing trailers, including hitching, unhitching and reversing.
• Be practical, hands-on and comfortable working with equipment and wood fires.
• Have excellent people skills and enjoy interacting with guests.
• Be reliable, organised and comfortable working unsupervised.
• Have a genuine interest in sauna culture and wellbeing.
• Be flexible and available to work weekends and public holidays.
• Hold a valid driver's licence suitable for towing our sauna trailer.

Previous sauna hosting experience isn't required. Full training will be provided, although a love of sauna is definitely an advantage!

Hours and availability

We're looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

• Now until Christmas: Approximately 20 hours per week.
• Christmas to Waitangi Weekend: Approximately 40 hours per week.
• After Waitangi Weekend: Approximately 20 hours per week, with additional hours during Easter, long weekends and public holidays.

Hours will vary depending on bookings, weather and seasonal demand.
