About Us

We run a professional deer and beef operation alongside a local hospitality business in the heart of beautiful Southland. We offer a flexible, supportive work environment and understand the rural lifestyle.

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable, practical Farm Helper for up to 3-month working 20 hours per week. This position is ideal for someone looking for steady, flexible farm hours over the next few months while enjoying everything the Southland outdoors has to offer. 
Bonus Hospitality Work: If you want to pick up more cash, additional hours are available working at our busy restaurant nearby!

Key Responsibilities

• Weed Control & Maintenance: Take charge of seasonal weed control (gorse, ragwort etc.) via mechanical or chemical removal.
• Assist with the management of deer and beef calves.
• General farm maintenance, including fencing and fence repairs.
• Help with stock feeding and animal health.
• Safely operate farm vehicles (quads).

What We Are Looking For

• Handyman Skills: You need to be handy with tools and capable of tackling basic farm maintenance, repairs, and DIY fixes independently.
• Weed Management: Experience with safe chemical handling and spot spraying is highly preferred.
• Experience: Practical experience with livestock
• Licence: A valid driver's licence.
• Attributes: Reliable, physically fit, and able to work independently.
• Bonus: There possibilities available if you love the outdoors and hunting and fishing.
