COUPLE OPPORTUNITY – 2nd CHEF/COOK & KITCHEN HAND 

The Royal Hotel, Naseby | Central Otago | 3-Month Contract

Looking for your next adventure in beautiful Central Otago?

The historic Royal Hotel in Naseby, originally built in 1863 and beautifully restored, is looking for an experienced 2nd Chef/Cook and Kitchen Hand couple to join our friendly, hardworking team.

Nestled in the stunning Maniototo, Naseby is a charming alpine village surrounded by amazing outdoor activities, including cycling, mountain biking, hiking and indoor curling. We’re approximately 1.5 hours from Dunedin and 2 hours from Queenstown.

2nd Chef / Cook

You’ll work alongside our Head Chef and help keep our busy kitchen running smoothly.

• Prepare salads, pizzas, burgers, mains, desserts and sauces
• Run the salad section during service
• Assist with general kitchen duties
• Closing and cleaning
• Take responsibility for the kitchen on the Head Chef’s days off

 Kitchen Hand

• Food preparation including salads, pizzas, burgers, meats, desserts and sauces
• Run your own section during service
• Receive and put away deliveries
• Dishes and general kitchen duties
• End-of-shift cleaning and maintaining a tidy kitchen

• Competitive hourly rates
• 35+ hours per week
• On-site cabin accommodation with private bathroom, internet, fridge and cooking facilities
• $150/week accommodation & evening meals package when working

• 3-month contract, with the possibility of staying longer

 What We’re Looking For

• Available to start immediately or as agreed  
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Comfortable working weekends, public holidays and split shifts
• Good English communication skills
• Commitment to at least 3 months, or longer
• Must already be resident in New Zealand
• References required
