We are looking for a person to assist us with looking after our plant propagation beds, help us with our lambs and to do some mowing around the farm. The role is not physically demanding as it largely involves removing some plastic mulch, checking our plant watering system and doing other activities to assist us to prepare for our sweet potato planting season. You don’t need any experience as full training will be provided. The role starts immediately and continues until the 27th of October, when if you wish to, can transition over to our planting team – which works till Christmas. We are looking for honest and reliable people, keen to work and make money. We can accommodate vans to stay on the farm or you can stay in one of our shared farmhouses with the other backpackers.

Dargaville is located at the west coast of Northland. Ripiro Beach is New Zealand’s longest drivable beach. There is lots to explore, like the Pouto lighthouse, a whole graveyard of shipwrecks, fishing and gathering seafood. Furthermore, we are located next to the stunning Kaipara Harbour, the largest harbour in the southern hemisphere. The east coast and Whangarei are a one-hour drive away, which makes the area the perfect spot for surfing, diving and other watersports. There are also some amazing hikes and activities in the area, like the Waipoua Forest and Trounson Park with its magnificent Kauri trees, or you can go for a swim and relax at the Kai Iwi Lakes.

When applying could you please give us a brief outline of your work history, let us know if you have your own transport, and include your cell phone number so we can contact you.

We are looking forward hearing from you
