Recpetionist/housekeeper

We are looking for a new person to join our team in our busy motel, Akaroa waterfront Motels, 24 self contained units  in beautiful Akaroa (seaside touristy town, 1h30 from Christchurch) from November 2026 for 5 or 6 months to help us during busy season

-receptionist position, work is usually between 9.30am and 7pm, managing bookings and reservations, answering telephone and email inquiries, processing payments, providing information about the motel, local attractions, restaurants and activities and laundry. 

You should communicate clearly with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure rooms are clean, ready and properly maintained for arriving guests

 Previous experience, use of PMS, channel manager and OTA websites, a bonus .

.2 to 3 days a week, please note you will often be alone during your shift, so you will need to multi task.

Extra hours in housekeeping, will be available,  work is usually between 9.30am and 1.30pm.-Duties include making beds, cleaning bathroom, lounge, bedroom, dusting, vacuuming and mopping + extras jobs time to time (ie: cleaning windows, gardening...) 2 to 3 days a week

Must be available to work weekend:  total minimum hours 25 to 30 hours per week

-Extra hours might be available for the suitable person

-We are looking for a friendly, trustworthy and reliable person, with good English and excellent customer service. We also ask a minimum of fitness to go up and down stairs.

Hourly rate $25-$27/hour, depending on experience

Private bedroom in our shared waterfront house would be available for the suitable person
