Diesel Mechanic

We are a small mechanical service and repair company based in Ranfurly, Central Otago. We cover a large area of the Central Otago region servicing and repairing all kinds of agricultural machinery like motorbikes, silage wagons ,tractors, cultivation equipment and trucks. We mainly travel from farm to farm we also have a shared base out of a contractors workshop.

What we require in a team member

Someone who enjoys a variety of work

Be able to diagnose vehicle and machinery faults

Be able to carry out repairs and service to vehicles and machinery to a high and safe standard

Must have excellent communication skills

Be able to think on feet, use initiative and have common sense

Be self-motivated, able to work alone or in company, also work in a timely manner

Be honest and friendly

Applicant must be tidy and able to stay up to date with job cards, time sheets and keep a clear record of order numbers when ordering parts.

The successful applicant must have a full drivers license.

Looking for someone just for the ag season (sept 2026 -april 2027)

In return we can offer the successful applicant a work ute with built in toolbox, cell phone, safety gear and good wages ( this will however reflect experience) may also be able to help find accommodation/housing in the area.

The Maniototo is a great area to live and work in with plenty of great hunting and fishing spots as well as some of the best ski fields and lakes within a 2 hour drive and Dunedin and Queenstown airports are both also within a 2 hour drive.
