3 Month Dry Stock Shepherd Mid Nov 2026 - Mid Feb 2027

Hukarere Station is a certified organic beef and sheep station running 18,000 stock units using high stock density regenerative grazing techniques in West Otago.

We require a capable person to assist the farm owner with stock management and general maintenance on our 660ha dry stock block The fixed term is from mid November 2026 to mid-February 2027.

The applicant would need:

• An open mind to learn and continue the development of our high stock density grazing system
• Experience with all aspects of stock husbandry 
• A good level of physical fitness
• The ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team
• Excellent observation skills
• Self-motivation, reliability and initiative
• To be a good communicator
• Will potentially be asked to help with jobs such as weaning and tailing on the “Station” (hill country) part of the business.

Accommodation is provided. 

The station offers a positive working environment and is located within a strong local community. Lots of access to great deer hunting and fishing as the Pomahaka River runs through the property.
