About I Love Gadgets

I Love Gadgets is a growing electronics retail and repair business specialising in smartphones, tablets, laptops, accessories, repairs, and refurbished devices. We are looking for a friendly, energetic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team.

Role Purpose

The Sales Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, understanding customer needs, recommending suitable products and services, processing sales, maintaining store presentation, and supporting the day-to-day operation of the store.

The ideal candidate will be confident communicating with customers, have an interest in technology and electronics, and be motivated to achieve sales targets while delivering a positive customer experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service

  • Welcome customers warmly and professionally.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products or services.
  • Provide accurate information about phones, tablets, laptops, accessories and repair services.
  • Handle customer enquiries in-store, by phone and through online channels.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when required.

Sales

  • Actively promote and sell products, accessories and repair services.
  • Identify opportunities for additional sales and upselling.
  • Explain product features, benefits, pricing, warranties and applicable policies.
  • Achieve individual and store sales targets.
  • Process EFTPOS, cash, bank transfer and other approved payments accurately.
  • Ensure payment is received before releasing products or completed repair devices.

Store Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional-looking store.
  • Ensure products are correctly displayed, priced and labelled.
  • Assist with stock receiving, stock counts and inventory management.
  • Help maintain accurate records of sales, repairs and customer information.
  • Follow company cash-handling and end-of-day procedures.
  • Assist with opening and closing the store as required.
  • Ensure company equipment, tools and stock are handled responsibly.

Repairs & Technical Support

  • Receive customer devices for repair and accurately record customer and device details.
  • Explain basic repair processes, estimated costs and turnaround times to customers.
  • Assist technicians by coordinating customer communication and repair updates.
  • Recommend suitable accessories and protection products when appropriate.
  • Develop basic knowledge of smartphones, tablets, laptops and common technical issues.

Marketing & Promotions

  • Promote current store offers, campaigns and loyalty/referral programs.
  • Assist with social media and local promotional activities when required.
  • Support special events, RepairFest campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Encourage customers to leave genuine feedback and reviews following a positive experience.

Desirable:

  • Previous retail or sales experience.
  • Experience working with mobile phones, electronics or technology.
  • Experience in phone/electronics repair or customer service.
  • Knowledge of POS, inventory or retail management systems.

Working Hours

The role may include weekdays, weekends and public holidays depending on the store roster and business requirements. Flexibility with working hours is an advantage.
