The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Branch Manager with general day-to-day depot operations, including customer service, checking, cleaning, and preparing our campervans between hires, as well as performing basic maintenance and repairs. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that sits at the heart of what makes the EPIC Campers experience exceptional.
NOTE: Applications are welcome from candidates on a valid Working Holiday Visa, provided their visa conditions allow them to work at least 30 hours per week and they are available to remain in the role until the end of April 2027.

Key Accountabilities
Campervan Grooming, Preparation & Basic Maintenance
• Ensure vehicles are cleaned and prepared with the required equipment and extras for each hire on time and to the high standard EPIC Campers is known for
• Maintain the depot to a high standard, including ensuring adequate pre-prepared equipment and bedding is ready to allow for faster turnarounds
• Complete all required vehicle checks every turnaround and keep records up to date: oil, fluids, tyre condition, and general vehicle condition
• Perform basic maintenance on vehicles and campervan interiors (e.g. changing wheels, wiper blades, or replacing and repairing fit-out components)
Customer Service
• Meet customers at drop-off, run through required checks, and identify and log any issues
• Welcome customers at pick-up, up-sell optional extras and insurance, and ensure all paperwork is complete
• Conduct thorough campervan handovers so customers understand how everything works and are ready for their NZ adventure
• Support customers throughout their trip with any questions they may have
• Deliver five-star service for every booking
General Operations
• Assist the branch team with daily operations including taking vehicles to and from suppliers and in-house servicing
• Perform all duties in line with the company culture, values, and policies
• Carry out other duties reasonably within your capability as directed from time to time
Depot Management
• Keep the depot clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies
• Ensure all company systems, processes, and checklists are followed accurately
• Support depot safety practices and compliance with health and safety protocols
Health & Safety
• Comply with all company health and safety requirements at all times
• Take personal responsibility for your own safety and that of others
• Identify and promptly report any accidents, incidents, or hazards in the workplace
• Attend and pass health and safety training courses as required for the role
Miscellaneous
• Provide sales support to the team as required, handling inbound customer enquiries and helping convert these into bookings
• Perform all duties in line with the company culture, values, and policies
What You’ll Bring
• Experience in a similar dynamic, customer-facing role with well-developed people skills
• Excellent communication skills — both spoken and written English
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage your time efficiently
• Takes ownership of responsibilities and consistently follows tasks through to completion
• Able to think critically and solve problems as they arise, achieving practical outcomes that work for the customer and the business
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work
• A positive team player who contributes to a collaborative, supportive workplace culture
• A solid basic understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements
• Willingness to learn workplace systems to deliver best-in-class operations and service
• Competent using standard hand tools including a vehicle jack, wheel brace, drill, screwdrivers, and other common workshop equipment
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence and reliable transport to and from the depot
