Maintenance Person

Do you want to spend a season living in the Abel Tasman? 

We are looking for people to help in our maintenance team over the upcoming season. A wide range of skills are desired for this position, including mechanical knowledge, building repairs, operation of a wide range of vehicles, and the ability to solve problems on the run. 

We are about as remote as a place gets, so the ability to keep everything running smoothly is key. We have our own water source, our own septic system, chefs garden, restaurants, a large workshop for repairs, and around 50 bedrooms. All require attention and ongoing upkeep throughout the season. 

A team of 4 people undertake this work, and everyones contribution makes our operation possible. The jobs range from a landscaping and gardening focus, through to a porter and handy man, and ideally a qualified mechanic or other trade background. These positions come with a range of hourly wages attached. 

Along side the above, some portering work is required. Using quads to collect bags and welcome guests, see them off on departure. 

Couple's applications considered, as we are also looking for staff in other hospitality based departments.  

Jobs with us involve living on site in staff accommodation, You would have your own room, with shared facilities such as kitchen and bathroom. A weekly fee of $230 per person covers all food and board.
