Agricultural Maintenance Welder – 8 Week Contract | Rakaia, Canterbury

Our Rakaia-based client is a well-respected local engineering business specialising in agricultural maintenance, welding, and fabrication across Canterbury.

Due to a team member being off work through injury and a busy workload, they are looking for an experienced Agricultural Maintenance Welder to join their team for an 8-week contract.

This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety, working on dairy sheds, silos, pipework, and general farm infrastructure throughout Canterbury.

What you'll be doing:

• Maintenance and repair welding on agricultural infrastructure
• Flux core and solid wire welding
• General fabrication, cutting, fitting, and assembly work
• Travelling to farms and rural sites throughout Canterbury
• Working both in the workshop and out on-site

You'll meet at the yard in Rakaia each morning before heading out with one of the senior engineers for the day.

What we're looking for:

• Proven welding and fabrication experience
• Experience with flux core and solid wire welding
• Ability to read plans and work accurately
• Someone who can think for themselves, use initiative, and work with minimal supervision
• Full driver's licence
• Strong commitment to health and safety
