Commis Chef - Soho Hotel Auckland

  • To assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day kitchen operation 
  • Prepare and cook raw food materials to the required standard. 
  • Prepare and cook appropriate amounts of stock to meet demand but avoid waste. 
  • Assist with food service including preparing dishes and sides
  • Ensure recipes are followed and dishes are prepared to our high standards in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure individual section and responsibilities are carried out to meet daily, function and special requirements. 
  • Clean preparation and service areas daily. Cleaning other areas as required.
  • To assist with dishwashing if no kitchen hand is working
  • Read, understand and follow the Food Control Plan daily.  
  • Inform Exec Chef/Sous Chef/CDP of any stock or ordering needed for the next day. 
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to.
  • Ensure all maintenance problems are promptly reported to senior chefs. 
  • Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to achieve team goals through strong teamwork
  • Treat all staff fairly and with courtesy.
