Holiday Home Cleaner / Housekeeper – Queenstown

CleanBNB is a Kiwi-owned company specialising in cleaning high-end holiday homes and short-term rentals across Queenstown. We look after lake houses, mountain chalets, and architect-designed homes, and our clients trust us to make every property beautifully presented before the next guest arrives.

We are hiring casual and part-time cleaners / housekeepers for daytime shifts across the week, including weekends. This role would suit someone based in Queenstown who is looking for steady, long-term work with a small, professional team. If you take pride in leaving a property looking its best, you will fit in well here.

Why work with us

  • $27–$30 per hour, based on experience
  • Daytime hours, usually between 9am and 6pm — no late nights
  • App-based rosters and clear checklists, so you always know what is expected
  • Work across some of the most impressive properties in the district
  • A small team where your work is noticed and valued
  • Genuine progression — Senior Cleaner and Team Leader roles.

What you'll do

Each shift, you'll prepare a property so the next guest walks in and feels good about it:

  • Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas to a hotel standard
  • Making beds to our presentation standard.
  • Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and detailing throughout
  • Following property checklists in our app
  • Spotting and reporting any damage, missing items, or anything that doesn't look right

Most shifts are daytime. Weekend and public holiday availability is required.

What we're looking for

Ideally you have some cleaning, housekeeping, or hospitality experience and know what a high standard looks like. If you do not have direct experience but you are based in Queenstown, dependable, and looking for steady long-term work, we are open to training the right person.

What matters most

  • You show up on time — guests have fixed check-in times, so timing matters
  • You have an eye for detail — a smear on the mirror, a crooked pillow, a missed corner
  • You take the checklist seriously and don't skip steps when time is tight
  • You can work independently and keep a good pace
  • You're physically up for an active shift — this is not a desk job
  • You communicate clearly when something at a property isn't right

What you'll need

  • A full driver's licence valid for driving in New Zealand
  • Your own reliable vehicle
  • A smartphone for rosters and checklists
  • Solid English — enough to read checklists and report property issues clearly
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand — working-holiday visa holders are welcome
  • Weekend and public holiday availability — this is a weekend-inclusive role

Please note: we are not able to offer visa sponsorship.
