KITCHEN HAND - Waiheke Beach Front Location - WORK FULL SUMMER SEASON

We are looking for enthusiastic Kitchen Hands to join our very friendly restaurant and hospitality team for the summer at our stunning Man O' War Bay Cellar Door, Restaurant and Events location. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to further their kitchen and hospitality experience.

Join us in paradise at Waiheke Island's only beachfront Cellar Door. New Zealand's "Island of Wine" is not only home to vineyards, wineries, and restaurants, but also white sand beaches and stunning coastal scenery. Man O' War is located at the very eastern end of the island at beautiful Man O' War Bay. We have a genuine passion for producing the very best wine, delicious food, and have a deep respect for the land.

About the Role

Reporting to our Head Chef, this role will ensure the highest standards and quality in the daily preparation of food and customer service, and will be up-to-date with new products, recipes and preparation techniques.

The main responsibilities of the roles are:

  • Food preparation and set up
  • Restocking
  • Cleaning and pack down at the end of the shift

About you

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to establish effective relationships with all other members of the team and be a team player
  • A high level of professionalism and personal presentation
  • Proficient English language skills and excellent listening skills and be able to take direction and follow instructions
  • A basic understanding of food and beverage service standards, including food service hygiene - a Food Handling Certificate would be an advantage
  • Previous experience with kitchen service in a commercial setting, is an advantage

Mandatory Attributes

  • Flexibility, as this is a busy, fast-paced operation, that can be open 7 days a week with a variety of work across different shift patterns and hours of work
  • Right to work in NZ
  • Willingness to live on Waiheke, or the ability to relocate; Temporary Hostel Accommodation available.
