About the Roles

We are currently seeking various ‘Casual’ Chef de Parties to join our kitchen team. These positions are casual, and do not offer regular hours. They would suit Chefs who are looking for extra hours or work on a casual basis who are currently base din Queenstown. The shifts would be both for breakfast, dinner and the occasional private dining opportunities. 

As part of our brigade, you will be hands-on with fresh, local, and locally-grown ingredients, including produce from our own gardens to deliver dishes that exceed guest expectations. You will collaborate with experienced chefs, contribute ideas for menus, and refine your skills in a professional and supportive environment.

In these roles, you will:

  • Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standard in line with our luxury brand
  • Work closely with the Executive and Sous Chefs, contributing to menu development and presentation ideas
  • Lead sections efficiently and ensure mise en place and service run seamlessly
  • Maintain consistency, speed, and attention to detail during service
  • Uphold strict food safety, health, and hygiene standards at all times

What You Will Bring

We are looking for a passionate chef de parties who thrive in a dynamic kitchen and take pride in their craft:

  • Culinary qualifications and a solid understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
  • Excellent time management, teamwork, and adaptability under pressure
  • A genuine passion for food, creativity, and continuous learning
  • Previous experience in a Luxury Lodge or similar setting.

Work Eligibility

Applicants must hold valid New Zealand work rights. Please check visa eligibility.

Your own transport is essential, there is no public transport from Queenstown to Rosewood Matakauri, and it is an approximate 10 minute drive on the open road from the Queenstown CBD.
