Farm Hand

Wwoofing opportunity on 300 acre sheep and beef hill country farm in the Tasman District. If you are looking for a great location to base yourself whilst exploring the Nelson region, in return for a few hours a day helping out on the farm, please get in touch. We are just finishing lambing, but there are a few pet lambs to bottle feed for a bit longer.  Calving starts soon. There are are always plenty of farm jobs of a wide variety. 

Current availability is from the end of September. We generally have helpers stay for 3-6 weeks, as this sort of time-frame allows you to learn and also explore the area.

You will be practical, physically fit, strong, handy with tools and not afraid of getting your hands dirty.  Apart from assisting with a variety of farm tasks, jobs are varied, ranging from assisting with stock work, shearing, fence repairs, tree planting, weed spraying and other farm work all depending on requirements and time of year.

Please note this is primarily a wwoofer/helpX experience type position in return for accommodation and food. We offer plenty of flexibility to enable you to enjoy the region and also learn about farming. 

You must treat animals kindly and with respect.  Non smokers and drug free only.

On farm, private, fully self-contained, separate accommodation, with water, electricity and WIFI included. Well situated, private and quiet with rural and sea views.  You must have your own car (15 mins from Richmond).
