Lodge Assistant (Housekeeping)

Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat is looking for a versatile and motivated Lodge Assistant Housekeeping to join our small  team.  

About the Role:

Housekeeping:

  • Cleaning guest accommodations and communal areas to luxury standards.
  • Preparing rooms, making beds, and replenishing supplies.
  • Assisting with laundry, maintaining hygiene of spa pools, and more.

Front of House:

  • May be required to assist with Front of House duties including meal delivery and restaurant service.

We are a small, supportive team where flexibility and helping in other areas (e.g., gardening, minor maintenance) is essential.

What We Offer:

  • Start Date: Mid September 2026
  • Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week.
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate.
  • Location: Live and work in the breathtaking Mackenzie Basin.
  • Accommodation supplied at affordable rates.

Additional Details:

  • Couples/friends welcome to apply: We may find roles for both, but days off together cannot be guaranteed.
  • Requirements:
    • Valid work permit to work in New Zealand.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • A car is desirable as we are rurally based

Ideal Candidate:

  • Positive, guest-focused, and service-minded.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to self-manage.
  • Previous housekeeping, front-of-house, or food & beverage experience is an advantage.
  • Strong English communication skills required
