Dairy Farm Helper

Come and experience dairy farming on a well managed, modern dairy farm in a central South Island.

Looking for someone to come and join the team for 6 weeks.  There will be a lot of support to assist you with your role if required. The position start date is late July so you can settle in, and any training can be given.  The finish date is around mid-September. This would be a great position for someone looking for some late winter work.

No experience is required as all training will be provided.

Requirements:

• Current Visa (working holiday)
• Own a vehicle as accommodation is off farm

Job role:

Helping with calving jobs

Collecting calves (must be able to pick up 25kg)

General farm work

Stock work with cows

The farm:

We are located 10 minutes from Kurow, 45 minutes from Oamaru and 1 hour from Timaru.  We are situated in a very scenic area surrounded by mountains and border the Waitaki river.  1000 cow dairy farm.  There is another adjoining dairy farm on the property so plenty of staff on farm.  A central location if travelling and exploring is your thing on your days off.

Accommodation:

A warm 4 bedroom off farm shared house is available and 1 bedroom is available.  The house is located in the Hakataramea Township around 10 minutes drive from the farm.  Kurow is a very friendly community.

Roster:

9 days on, 3 days off

Salary:

The salary for this position is $25.00/hour + holiday pay.  The hours would average 40-45 hours.
