CALTEX WANAKA is a private, family-owned service station looking for a friendly person to join our team. We offer FUN times, laughs, great company and variety in your work (customer service, store sales, merchandising, food, gas bottle swap & refills, trailer hire and carwash).

We are located within one block of stunning Lake Wanaka which is the main go-to area for people visiting Central Otago. Wanaka is famous for its outstanding scenery, surrounded with gorgeous lakes and mountains which makes it the ultimate base for outdoor activities. We have 2 international skifields within 30 mins of town, one of which is NZ largest ski area - Cardrona.

Caltex Wanaka is a busy service station located in the centre of Wanaka town, open from 6am - 11pm 7 days a week.  We provide a wide variety of services e.g, convenience store, barista coffee, freshly prepared food, Chicken to Go, Deli style sandwiches, laundromat, customer shower, carwash, LPG, trailer hire, etc. - plus fuel of course!  We're looking for someone that enjoys variety in their work, a team player and can give our customers great service every time. 

At Caltex we are a small Kiwi & multi cultural team of 10, with everyone sharing the daily responsibilities.  This includes helping customers, being on the tills, shop merchandising, receiving deliveries, food preparation, and cleaning.  We are a youthful, fun team and you're guaranteed to interact with locals, holidaymakers and tourists every day.  Due to customer interactions, you'll need to have a good understanding of, and spoken english.  This is important as you will be in the shop communicating with customers.

We pay good money - above hospitality pay rates, plus you will have guaranteed work.  You won’t be doing any split shifts and will be given regular breaks.  We will offer you comprehensive training and will give you lots of variety in your day-to-day work.  This is a permanent position for at least 6 months.   You will have 2 consecutive days off midweek and be working a combination of afternoon/evening shifts.  

We cannot offer sponsorship for this role - sorry.  Due to quality of training we provide, we need someone that has a work visa for at least 6 months. If you decide Wanaka is for you and you want to stay on for the summer season we'll give you a $1500 bonus if you are employed until Easter 2027.

Following training, the shift we have opening up is Wed & Thu 2.30-11pm, Fri 12-8pm, Sat & Sun 6am-2.30pm.

The role commences with training on 6 August 2027.
