WEE CRUMB IS HIRING — KAIKOURA

Wee Crumb is our brand-new spot for seriously good sweet treats, great coffee and creative, trend-led drinks.

We want to have fun with what we serve, keep trying new things and give Kaikoura something a little different. Now we need a great team to help us bring it to life.


EXPERIENCED HEAD BARISTA

Permanent full-time | Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week**
$25–$30 per hour, depending on experience
Starting end of August

Great coffee is a given — but Wee Crumb will also be about fun, creative drinks and flavours that are a little unexpected.

We’re looking for an experienced barista who loves making consistently great coffee, keeps an eye on what’s trending and is excited to experiment with new drinks and flavour combinations.

The role includes:
 

• Preparing consistently great espresso-based coffees and other drinks
• Dialling in the grinder and monitoring grind, extraction and shot times throughout the day
• Helping develop new drinks, flavours and seasonal specials
• Providing warm, friendly and efficient customer service
• Keeping the coffee station clean, organised and well stocked
• Helping maintain standards and consistency across the coffee offering
• Working efficiently as part of the wider Wee Crumb team and helping with general café duties when required

You’ll need:
 

• At least 1 year of full-time barista experience
• The ability to work independently on the coffee machine when required
• An interest in current drink trends, flavours and presentation
• To be warm and friendly, acknowledge every customer and genuinely enjoy great service
• The ability to work quickly and confidently while maintaining quality
• A positive attitude and willingness to bring new ideas
• Weekend and school holiday availability

FRONT OF HOUSE

Multiple positions | Varying shifts and hours

We’re looking for friendly, energetic people who genuinely enjoy looking after customers.

Experience is great, but attitude is just as important to us. We want people who smile, acknowledge customers, are reliable, willing to learn and happy to get stuck in.

Weekday, weekend and school holiday availability is important.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE HOURS

Kaikoura is seasonal and so are we. Summer absolutely hums, while winter gives us a chance to slow down a little.

Our permanent full-time roles guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week year-round, with generally more hours available through summer.
