Mr Whippy Ice Cream Van Driver

We are looking for Mr Whippy ice cream van driver/operators to join our team and working on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast and the greater Auckland area this summer. 

A 6-month fixed-term full-time contract is available starting immediately  Flexible days and 30-hours work per week or more available.. You need to be available to work at least through until the end of March and ideally through to the end of April.

This is a rewarding job working with happy people.  It would suit a practical person who likes to get out and about in the community. You will cater to private bookings and functions, sports clubs, big events, companies as well as selling at parks and beaches. To be a successful Mr Whippy operator you need to be sales-orientated and able to deliver the 'Mr Whippy Experience' to our eager customers. 

Driving a large van around Auckland is a critical part of this role.  You need to be an experienced and confident driver. A strong customer focus with a friendly attitude is also essential, as is the energy to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  

We are looking for candidates who:

• have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• are reliable, honest and able to work efficiently, unsupervised
• are available to work weekends and/or on weekday afternoons and evenings
• have a full driving licence and can confidently drive a large Ford Transt ice cream van
• are clean and tidy operators who can follow food-safety serving procedures
• can handle cash and electronic payments accurately and efficiently

Previous work experience handling of food is preferred, but not necessary. You’ll be working within a National Programme 3 food safety plan and all necessary training is provided. We even supply you with a Mr Whippy uniform.

The business is based out of Milldale in North Auckland.  You’ll need to be able to get to and from Milldale each day that you work. 

We've previously recruited some fantastic driver/operators from the New Zealand Backpacker Board. They have now moved on with their travel plans and we are now looking for the next Mr Whippy ice cream superstars to join our team.
