Housekeeper / Cleaner

Hello!  We have a part-time position available for the summer from now (start date negotiable although preferably earlier rather than later if possible). 

We would prefer that you be able to work with us for at least 2 months, but we would consider a shorter stay.  The position is otherwise available for 3 or more months while we remain busy.  The job is casual and provides approx. 15-25 hours average per week (between 9.00 am - 2.00 pm) – there is a possibility of extra hours, usually with 1 or 2 days off per week.  Cleaning experience is an advantage but a friendly personality, a great attitude, and attention to detail are more important, and training will be provided.  The wage is $23.00 per hour, plus 8% holiday pay of $1.84 making it a total of $24.84 per hour.

Applicants must be physically fit, hardworking, and have high standards of detail, delivered with a smile :) 

Duties include making beds, cleaning kitchens, and bathrooms, vacuuming, and washing floors and windows. 

Good communication skills, and understanding English is preferential, but that is not too critical if we’re able to understand each other!  NZ Citizenship, residence, or an NZ working holiday visa and IRD number are required.  Free unlimited Wi-Fi and laundry.  Picton is the heart of the Marlborough Sounds!  Come and experience the tranquillity of our picturesque hiking trails and water excursions to explore the sounds or even the Queen Charlotte track.  Everything in Picton is within walking distance, with hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and good places to eat!

Once you’re done working in the morning, enjoy all that Picton and the Marlborough sounds have to offer in the afternoon or on your off days!
