The Bay of Many Coves is an internationally renowned five-star luxury lodge in the Queen Charlotte Sound, a 30 minute water taxi ride from Picton. The lodge is open all year round, and we are looking for an Sous chef to join our award winning team.

As an experienced Sous chef you'll be reporting to the Executive Chef. You must have proven experience working in a busy kitchen, easily managing the pressures of customers, colleagues and cooking. You will also be responsible for maintaining our Food Safety Plan in accordance with government legislation.

To be successful in this role you will be discreet, dedicated and comfortable working under pressure. You will be joining a small and highly engaged team, so it’s important you are a team player willing to pitch in. You will also be comfortable working and living in a remote location, happily taking advantage of the many outdoor activities at our doorstep, in this live on site role.

Skills and experience

  • 3+ years of experience as Sous chef 
  • To be able to showcase a Portofolio
  • Be able to work under pressure and work split shifts during the busy Summer
  • Have an even temperament and be prepared to learn
  • Be a team player and know what it is to live and work in a remote location
