As an Au Pair you will gain experience working with children and learn the basics of the New Zealand Early Childcare curriculum. You will live with a great host family to really experience and embrace the kiwi way of life. It is a great opportunity to perfect your English and communication skills as well and meet other Au Pairs already living and working in New Zealand.
About us:
•Au Pair Link is the only Au Pair agency in the world that provides Au Pairs with an educational programme – which is supported by fully qualified Early Childhood Education teachers! You will be able to learn about world leading childcare and education techniques from our qualified teachers as well as participate in playgroups and professional development training sessions!
•An orientation programme including childcare training, CPR and first aid course as well as professional driving lessons
•Free room & board for up to 12 months
•A competitive weekly salary and a completion Bonus (paid at the end of the Placement Term by the Host Family to their Au Pair)
•Au Pair Link New Zealand is a member of the International Au Pair Association and the World Youth Student and Educational Travel Confederation (WYSE).
•On-going support by qualified ECE teachers and other Au Pairs, we organise play groups, monthly outings and sightseeing opportunities.
General duties:
The primary duty of an Au Pair is to care for the child or children of your Host Family. This may include:
-Waking the children in the morning and helping them to get dressed
-Preparing meals for the children
-Helping the children take care of their belongings and tidy their room
-Cleaning general communal areas
-Taking the children to school and other activities such as sport
-Playing, reading and encouraging the children with their homework as well as maintaining family rules
-Sometimes babysitting in the evenings
-Helping with the household grocery shopping if required
-Washing and organising the child’s clothes and bedding if required
To be an Au Pair you:
-Must be able to commit to a minimum of three months
-Must have some childcare experience, references would be great!
-Must have a full drivers licence
-Good standard of English language
-Must have a valid working holiday visa or be able to live and work in New Zealand.
