Au Pair/nanny In Central Otago

Payment: Accommodation & Paid ($16-18 negotiable)
Location: Poolburn, Central Otago
Region: Otago/Queenstown/Wanaka
Experience: Limited Experience Necessary
Contact: Genevra Scott
Listing Added: 19/05/2017

We are a busy family of 4 living in Central Otago. Dad manages a group of farms, and Mum is an accountant in town. We love to play, spend time outdoors, collect bugs, and read books. We are looking for an au pair/nanny to help us out and be part of the family. We have a busy and helpful 3yo boy, and a lively and boisterous 1yo girl.

We live on a large farm in Poolburn, about half an hour drive from Alexandra. We are surrounded by paddocks, beef cattle, and we look at beautiful mountain ranges, which are starting to become covered in snow. It is a beautiful part of our country, and we are sure you will enjoy exploring in your spare time!

We are a busy household, and require an au pair/nanny to help with the children before and after preschool 3 days a week (you will have free time during these days), 1-2 full days of childcare, and 2 days off per week (25-35 hours work per week). We also need some help with chores around the house, and some dinner preparation. If you can cook and maybe bake it would be an advantage. In return, we will welcome you into our family and our community, and give you a ‘sweet kiwi experience’! We will pay you a wage less accommodation - your own fully furnished, warm room with food, power and internet included (if you live locally this can be a live-out position).

Our successful candidate will:

  • be friendly, fun, experienced and comfortable with young children
  • be responsible and flexible
  • have a minimum 100 hours childcare experience – references required, and a childcare qualification would be an advantage
  • be able to start around May or June, for 3-6 months
  • have a full New Zealand or International drivers license and you own car
  • have a working holiday visa or New Zealand citizenship
  • be able to provide a current police check

If you are interested, and we sound like a good fit for you, please email us about yourself and your experience. We can’t wait to hear from you!
