We are looking for an energetic, fun and friendly couple who would like to help us run our busy accommodation business, 150 acre farm and spend time with our family in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Starting from Wednesday  7th February (give or take a day), for approximately 4 months. We are situated in the beautiful Winterless North, 20 minutes drive north of Kerikeri. You can see our location and business on www.takouriver.com We live in a stunning part of New Zealand on the peaceful Takou River, with direct access to the beach, surrounded by native bush, river and pastures, and within easy driving distance of Kerikeri and all its amenities.

The first position is for a full time cleaner and housekeeper for the cottages (40 hrs/week). Your duties are to clean and prepare the cottages, make beds, carry out laundry, ironing and general house keeping duties, meet and greet guests etc. When bookings are quiet, you may also be needed to help in our busy household, carrying out cleaning, housekeeping, basic cooking, and general help with the children (ages 15, 13 and 11)...any skills, sports or other interests you have are always welcome!

The second position, also full time, 40 hrs/week, is to help gardening, lawn mowing, weeding, farm duties, weed control, stock movement, equipment maintenance, light construction work etc. When we are busy in the cottages, you will also need to help with cleaning and cottage preparation. 

Please let us know if you have specific skills such as tractor driving, mechanical skills, fencing, carpentry etc. as these will be an advantage.

We are looking for a couple who like rural living, enjoy the outdoors, are physically active, enjoy children, can work independently, responsibly and to deadlines, and have a sense of humour. Experience in the hospitality industry and on farms are an advantage.

You will need to speak fluent English, have your own transport and driving licence, be physically fit and active and be a non-smoker. 

The position starts on February 7th for 4 months duration approximately.

Accommodation is provided (rental) in a self-contained fully furnished cottage on the property. The cottage is warm, sunny and cosy and has an open plan fully equipped kitchen and living area, wood fire, separate double bedroom and toilet/shower, CD/DVD Player and free access to WiFi. It also has a greenhouse attached. Furnishings and linen are provided.
