Enjoy the region by day, make a living by night.  This is the perfect position for adventurers and snow sports enthusiasts.

We require an experienced Short Order Chef for our busy Restaurant Cafe and Take Away operation here in Lake Hawea, a small village on the shores of a beautiful alpine lake just 15 minutes drive from Wanaka township.  We are positioned as a resupply point for Te Araroa Trail walkers, and the area is considered the gateway to many wilderness experiences in the Southern Alps.

Open 4-5 evenings a week, our licensed restaurant seats up to 50 guests inside and out.  The Restaurant exists alongside our bustling village general store, and is frequented by locals and holiday makers alike throughout the year.  This winter, we will offer casual dining from a limited menu that includes burgers, salads, pizzas and kids meals alongside Happy Hour style grazing options, 4-5 nights a week. 

The role:

Short Order Chef - Licensed Restaurant & Bar
- Rostered hours include 2pm-10pm shifts / 4-5 nights per week
- Cooking from casual dine-in menu (Burgers / pizzas / kids meals)
- Prep and ordering 
- Leadership of small kitchen team

Lake Hawea is 15km drive from Wanaka township, candidates require their own transport and accommodation.  'The Camp'  in Lake Hawea offer local and longer term site rentals and some accommodation options. 

Positions commence immediately, and we prefer at least 12 weeks availability from start date.  Foreign applicants require a valid Work VISA.
