Calf Rearing Assistant

Hi guys. Do you like working with animals?  Have you got the patience and a nurturing nature?  We have a vacancy for a calf rearing assistant to help one to two others for four to six weeks from the beginning of August depending on your itinerary.  There is 3 hours paid work a day available from 8am to 11am with the afternoons off to explore or you may be able to get another position in the afternoons. Timaru is 20 minutes away and Waimate is 15 minutes .  You will be helping to train and feed the new calves, spray weekly there bedding, clean out their water troughs and fill up their grain containers (so must be able to lift up to 15 kg bags of feed). There may also be work available helping get the new calves and cows in and helping to milk the new Mums.  Accommodation is in your own new 2 bedroom furnished flat on farm where you will be able to walk to work.  Internet is available in the staff room, 25 metres from the calf sheds. Staff get home baking and breakfast supplied.  We can also supply you with farm meat, eggs and milk. We will supply you with all the protective work clothing and gumboots.  We look forward to hearing from you.
