Dairy Farm Worker

We require a hard working, reliable and motivated person to join our team some time after 29th April 2024. As sharemilkers we aim to foster a positive working environment where all staff are appreciated and looked after. The farm is perfectly located in Winchmore which is halfway between Ashburton and Methven. Mt Hutt skifield is only 30mins drive away. The area provides a lot of opportunities for many outdoor experiences, with lakes, rivers, mountains and numerous bush walks all close by. Our closest city is Christchurch which is 1 hour drive. 

The successful applicant would ideally have some dairy farm experience with great shed hygiene, the ability to detect mastitis and excellent animal husbandry skills, however training can be given. At least a 6 month committment to the position is preferred. 

The property milks 650 cows through a 50 bale rotary (in-shed feeding, ACR’s, auto teat spray and drafting). The farm is 185ha and spray irrigated via centre pivot, a rotorainer and a small area of sprinklers. Effluent is applied via centre pivot.
