Ski Technician / Rental Supervisor

We are currently seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic snow goers wanting to indulge in a winter staying in our little village and working in a premium Ski Shop and Rental. 

About Us
Ski Biz / Snowzone @ The Alpine Centre is a Independent family business located in National Park Village near the base of Mt. Ruapehu. In the winter season we provide Rental, Retail and Workshop Tuning to customers visiting Mt Ruapehu. 

We currently have an opening for Ski Technician / Rental Supervisor. This is a Full-Time position on a fixed term contract for the duration of the Mt.Ruapehu Winter Snow Season. 

We provide all our Full-Time employees with a Mid-week mountain pass to Mt. Ruapehu, to enjoy between your shifts and on days off, so you can share your positive experiences and vibes with our customers.

About the position

• In this position you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining snowsports rental equipment
• Ongoing training of rental staff in basic ski tuning
• Ongoing training and assistance of staff in ski and binding setup, dins and binding adjustments, and boot fitting
• Train staff in computerised rental systems and POS system
• Be the go to person to provide product knowledge to customers looking to rent and purchase equipment
• Working and assisting in rental in all areas of demand on a day to day basis

About You

• Proven experience in Snowsports Equipment as a Ski Technician
• Minimum 3 years experience in Snowsports equipment: Rental Technician, boot fitting and rental operations
• Experience with Wintersteiger machinery, operating and servicing would be a preference
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to train others
• Health and safety conscious

The position is on a roster basis with two days off mid-week and some split shifts, meaning you can sometimes get up the mountain 3-4 times a week. The usual rostered week is 35-45 hours work, but more during the school holidays.

We provide All full-Time positions a Mid-week mountain pass to Mt. Ruapehu, to enjoy your days off, so you can share your positive experiences and vibes with our customers. 

Starting date mid/late June and finishing mid-October. 

We don’t have any staff accommodation of our own, but have at present some secured for our staff.
