General Skilled Labourer

Overview

Tarora is a remote private estate in the beautiful Fiordland region, close to the township of Te Anau.  We are a truly stunning property with a number of exciting construction and development projects planned in Summer / Autumn 2024.

We are actively seeking General (Skilled) Laborers to join our seasonal team, providing labour & support to our onsite construction & property maintenance teams. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Construction of concrete foundations, frames, and achieving quality concrete finishes.
• Carpentry tasks including deck construction and wood cutting.
• Renovation work such as sanding and painting.
• Chainsaw operation – cutting, splitting, and stacking wood.
• Operating tractors and other working vehicles.
• Deconstruction and demolition projects as required.
• Performing various handyman and maintenance jobs as needed.
• Building sheds and other structures according to specifications.

Requirements

• Chainsaw experience - mandatory.
• Proficiency in spoken English.
• Fluency in Chinese or Filipino language is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is preferred but not mandatory.
• Non-smokers preferred.
• Working holiday visa holders are welcome to apply.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and honest.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
