Tractor Operator

We are looking for tractor operators to assist us with harvest of our sweet potato crop. There are roles going operating a 130hp tractor pulling a sweet potato harvester with seven or so workers onboard and other roles driving smaller tractors with front and rear forklifts supporting the harvesters. You will need to be a skilled and experienced operator for the role operating a harvester; although the other role is more of an entry level type position. Work starts immediately and harvest usually finishes around the beginning of May.   

We endeavour to work 5 plus days a week. Preference will be given to those who can commit to the full period. You will need a current visa, IRD number and NZ bank account. There is accommodation available on or near the jobsite – either in a farmhouse or we have facilities for those who live out of their van. There is also a campsite on the beach just a short distance from the farm. If you have a partner there is a good chance, we will also be able to offer her/him a role working on one of the harvesters. This is a good opportunity to work and stay with all sorts of likeminded travellers as well as Kiwi's.

In your time off there is plenty to do and see. New Zealand longest driveable beach is just a 15 minutes drive away. Inviting for fishing, surfing and exploring. The east coast and Whangarei is a 45 minutes drive, the same as the Kai Iwi Lakes, where you can go swimming, kayaking, walking or just hanging out, as well as the Waipoua Forest were you can meet the legendary tree giant Tane Mahuta.
