Sweet Potato Harvest

We are looking for 6 workers to assist us harvest our sweet potato crop. The job involves working on a sweet potato harvester where you will need to remove the vines and sort the produce. It is largely considered easier than some other types of vegetable harvesting as its mechanically assisted and largely involves moving product from one belt and putting it on another. No experience necessary as full training will be provided. Start is immediate and harvest continues through May. 

We endeavour to work 5 plus days a week. Preference will be given to those who can commit to the full period. You will need a current visa, IRD number and NZ bank account. There is accommodation available on or near the jobsite – either in a farmhouse or we have facilities for those who live out of their van. There is also a campsite on the beach just a short distance from the farm. This is a good opportunity to work and stay with all sorts of likeminded travellers as well as Kiwi's.

In your time off there is plenty to do and see. New Zealand longest driveable beach is just a 15 minutes drive away. Inviting for fishing, surfing and exploring. The east coast and Whangarei is a 45 minutes drive, the same as the Kai Iwi Lakes, where you can go swimming, kayaking, walking or just hanging out, as well as the Waipoua Forest were you incan meet the legendary tree giant Tane Mahuta.
