If you're in need of a revitalising boost, you really should check out the Fernland Spa thermal mineral springs, just five minutes drive from central Tauranga.
Relax in pure sparkling soda water in one of eight private pools or the main pool, and soak your cares away amongst the ferns which spring up all around in a spectacular natural setting with 2.5 hectares of towering native bush as the backdrop.
The beautiful secluded valley also has large picnic areas, and this is a great place to come with a campervan, as you can park up here for the night and enjoy an early morning or late night soak before bed...mmm bliss!
The 100 percent natural crystal clear odourless water is drawn from about 250 metres underground, which is pretty amazing. The water contains traces of seven beneficial minerals and is constantly changing.
All pools are drained, cleaned and refilled daily. Temperatures range from 37.5 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius, and can be varied to suit weather conditions. So if you need some chill-out time, definitely head down to Fernland Spa, where you will leave feeling like you're floating on a cloud!
