The car:

It's the full size Estima, not the smaller Emina or Lucida Version. The Engine is supercharged and drives all wheels. The SC gives the car great torque at low RPM which means it is very silent to drive. The AWD is great for driving at the beach or on gravel roads as well as steep hills in wet conditions. The average consumption is around 10 Liters. Thanks to an overdrive one tank is good for 600+ KM. The engine consumes no oil at all!

Our version is an automatic and has a electric moonroof, front windows electric, central locking, electric mirrors, AC, CD, and tinted windows.

When we got a flat tyre in february we changed both back wheels and one dodgy looking in the front. The fourth tyre was changed in december from the previous owner.

The equipment:

When we got the car in january we setup a second battery (deep cycle) under the bed including a power converter. This converter lets you charge and run bigger electronic devices like laptops, cameras or electric shavers for instance. A double 12V charger for USB-connectivity can be reached from the bed as well.  The battery can be charged by a foldable 100 Watts solar-panel which we purchased at the same time. That gives you the ability to produce power on demand without running the engine at all! The complete setup cost over 800 NZD, runs flawlessly and is even powerfull enough for the Winter sun!

In february we got a gazebo to have the ability to hide from the sun or the rain as well. It is 2.4m² in length and up to over 2m of hight. So you can sit and cook outside the car even at rainy days. The gazebo is pretty solid and 100% rain and UV proof. It is very compact and easy to set up even for one person (around 3 minutes). The cost was nearly 200 NZD.

In the back of the car we have a cupboard with full kitchen facilities like two gas cookers, coolbox, pots and pan, dishes, tupperware, water tanks and more. Best have a look yourself.

The bed is built-in which gives you plenty of storage space. Big plastic containers let you setup your clothing and other luggage in the order you need it. We put in over 60KG of luggage and still have a bit space.

A beach shelter and a big parasol are included as well.

The car was made over 20 years ago, so don't expect a new campervan. The paint is dull from the new zealand sun, the body has a lot of scratches and we are driving with old bearings. But these will be replaced with the New WoF in Auckland. In the time we travelled we've done nearly 10.000 KM and never had an issue except a flat tyre. The engine and transmission are well for another ten times around New Zealand. So if you're looking for a reliable car ready to travel from now on, mail to vivian.foerster@web.de or call/SMS to 0220307787. whats APP to 0061416760923. We are around Auckland from the 20th of March.
