1996 Nissan Caravan Dx Beethoven

located in Wellington and listed under Cars & Campervans

Looking to explore all that New Zealand offers, but in a little more luxury than a cramped station wagon, or greasy old backpackers van?

Meet BEETHOVEN!

——————————

Nissan Caravan 1996

Diesel 2.8L

271,000 km

Long wheel-base, self contained, great condition.

A beautifully fitted-out campervan, with cosy layout, sink, toilet, curtains, tinted windows, quick to drive but really good on fuel consumption.

Plenty of space with the high top and long wheel base. On our travels we sometimes slept 3 people in here and it was surprisingly comfortable and spacious.

The seating area is a great place to lounge, with the removable table that lowers down to become a comfy queen size bed (cushions are professionally upholstered in durable fabric and extra thick with foam layer plus topper).

There is a huge amount of storage in the van with overhead cabin storage, kitchen cupboards, and storage chests underneath the seating/bed area.

Floor and wall insulation helps you stay nice and cool when the weather's baking, and warm and cosy in these colder months!

Beethoven is certified self-contained for 2 people until 2021. New WOF June 2018, and a fresh oil change.

Maintenance paperwork and manual included.

This trustworthy Van was previously owned by a family for 4+ years and only occasionally used. We purchased it in November 2017 so my parents could travel around NZ while visiting. We are selling now very reluctantly as they've left the country - I would be keeping it if I could. During my ownership it has had a full engine tune and maintenance, belt replacements, CV joint replacement and exhaust manifold replacement. We also put in a new clutch, which has had about 7000km on it at this point. All rust has been addressed properly professionally - only minor surface rust on the roof guttering (very standard for vans in NZ) which was ground back, welded, and repainted. No structural rust to bother you getting a WOF.

We took this van the entire length of New Zealand twice and had absolutely no mechanical issues. An amazing runner which is surprisingly good on diesel at about 11L per 100km - much lower than other vans in this class. Guaranteed one of your cheapest options for travelling the country. Burned no oil, happy starter even on those cold south island mornings.

We are more than happy for you to arrange a pre-purchase inspection for your peace of mind, either carried out at our address or at VTNZ on Adelaide Road (at your expense).

Please note: Mileage may increase slightly as the van is still in light use. Also please be aware that due to age, there are some minor body imperfections and varying shades of white body paint, but on the whole this is a great van, a solid runner, and much of the hard work has already been done for you to take advantage of. Add a few final touches to make it yours, or simply pack up and set off!
