High Top Econovan Maxi

located in Christchurch and listed under Cars & Campervans

Selling from: Christchurch

Sale needs to be secured: End of November

Hello travellers!

For sale $12,000: ‘Maxi’ our FORD ECONOVAN MAXI 1992 Camper Van high-top. We are Maxi’s SECOND backpacker owners (previous owners bought it from local Kiwi’s). We bought this van with intention of travelling extensively around New Zealand and after 7 months we can ensure you that this van is STRONG enough to do it. The van is perfect for a couple or friends, providing space for up to 3 PEOPLE (3 seats with seatbelts). Please see the van FEATURES BELOW.

The Ford Econovan Maxi has a reputation for being nearly indestructible if the engine is looked after. If you don’t believe us, we highly recommend researching this model online. This one has been very well maintained and comes with detailed documented maintenance history back to 2008 and an overview going back to its first owner in 1992.

Prior to our purchase in April, we subjected the van to a 100-point inspection from the AA, which it passed with flying colours!

The van is certified as a SELF-CONTAINED vehicle until 09 JAN 2021. The Self-Containment Certificate allows you to stay in all Freedom Camping sites with generally more scenic views and those reserved for self-contained vehicles only.

///// MECHANICS /////

She drives brilliantly (2.0L petrol engine) and has a five speed manual column shift gear box. With just over 300,000km she has plenty of life left in her (same age vans are generally between 400,000 and 600,000km).

DO NOT trust other Ford Econovan ads with mileage under 300,000. Check reports of vehicle on CARJAM as we did.

The POWER STEERING is very useful for a van, because you are going to drive it every day on winding New Zealand roads.  A good Sony Radio is installed with external plug (Jack and/or USB), which allows you to listen all your favourite songs from your Smartphone during those long drives. Speakers in both cab and living space.
