Bay of Islands
Excitor – High Speed Adventure (1.5hrs)
Feel the adrenalin as the power of the four 300hp V8 engines race you through the islands of the Bay and out to the open sea. Breathtaking scenery is enhanced with the skipper's commentary. As we approach the Hole in the Rock music pumps through the speakers heightening the experience. Hold your breath as the skipper navigates through the narrow space and admire the rock walls which soar above you.
Adrenalin junkies will love the "extreme seats" at the front of the Excitor, CAUTION: these are not for the faint hearted. The Excitor thrives in large waves, so the bigger the swell, the bigger the buzz. NB: Splash proof gear and sunglasses provided.
Dolphin Eco Experience(half day)
This intimate half day cruise seeks out the many playful dolphins within the sheltered waters of the Bay. Our purpose built dolphin vessel gets you closer – with a low viewing deck, water jet engines, underwater microphone and experienced crew with an intimate knowledge of dolphin behaviour. And with a maximum number of 35 passengers onboard it means that this is a very upclose and personal experience.
Cape Reinga via Ninety Mile Beach including Sandboarding(full day)
Journey to the far north and explore the history and legends of this diverse and dramatic landscape. The craggy windswept headland of Cape Reinga (Te Rerenga Wairua) rises steeply to 290 m above sea level. According to Maori legend it is the departing place of souls on their journey to the homeland, Hawaiki.
Day in the Bay – Dolphin Swim Experience (full day)
This full day cruise takes in the best the Bay of Islands has to offer including the Hole in the Rock, Cape Brett Lighthouse, Island stopover and the Grand Cathedral Caves. Throughout the day we actively search of dolphins pods to swim with and often see other marine life such as whales, seals, penguins, fish and marine birdlife.
Discover Hokianga and Tane Mahuta (full day)
The Hokianga harbour is widely regarded as the home of Kupe, the very first voyager and Maori to discover New Zealand over 1,000 years ago. Learn from local Maori guides the legends and history of local Maori and enter the spiritual environment of the Waipoua Forest - home to massive ancient kauri trees, regarded as guardians of the forest.
